As Catholics, there are a number of feast days and holy days that bring the faithful to their parishes aside from their Sunday obligation. In August, that feast is the Assumption of Mary which is celebrated around the world on the 15th day of August. At St. Peter Cathedral, this high feast was celebrated with Mass at 5pm.The Mass was celebrated by His Excellency, Mar Emanuel Shaleta. Afterward, a procession venerating a statue of the Virgin was processed around the Church before finally coming to rest at the grotto outside of the parish.
For the first time, the Knights of Columbus prepared a BBQ that took place after the procession. There were also jumpers brought for the kids to enjoy.
