Beginning in the morning of June 30th, 2014, preparations began at St. Peter’s parking lot for the Chaldean Youth Convention Bingo. They transformed the parking lot into a well established bingo lot.
At 7pm, there were hundreds of people who came out to support the Chaldean Youth. There were about seven different types of bingo games. Everyone had a fun time as they were challenged in various bingo games.
The night continued til over 9pm where people were enjoying themselves with each other’s company, as well as all the concession stands, selling popcorn, pizza, and so much more. There were two separate raffles that went one during the night. One of which gave an $800 dollar statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This was given out by two Neighborhood Market Association Members, Dany Shaba and Marlo Gorgis. This night raised over two thousand dollars which really benefits our Chaldean Youth members.
David Stephen said, “This bingo is for the youth, by the youth.” He, then, thanked all those who helped out before the event and thanked the committee for dedicating so much time and effort for the 2014 youth convention. This event was very successful and encouraged all the youth of St. Peter’s and St. Michael’s to be excited for the weekend to come.
