On Sunday, January 26, H.E. Bishop Mar Bawai Soro celebrated the Mass at St. Paul Assyrian Chaldean Catholic Church in North Hollywood, California. This was his first visit after his appointment by H.H. Pope Francis as bishop in the Chaldean Catholic Church two weeks ago. The church was full of delighted faithful who received the Eucharist from his hands.

Following the Mass a luncheon was prepared at Olympian Banquet Hall in Van Nuys honoring His Excellency. The hall was packed with the parish members who came to show their joy in the appointment. A speech was given by the pastor Chorbishop Samuel Dinkha followed by another one by the bishop Mar Bawai who thanked God for crowning this work of church unity by the Papal decree.

Mar Bawai is the titular bishop of the See of Feraziana and his services are to be in the Chaldean Catholic Eparchy of Saint Peter the Apostle which is under the wise spiritual leadership of H.E. Bishop Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo.
