On Wednesday, July 24, 2013, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches in the Roman Curia, visited St. Peter Chaldean Catholic Cathedral. His Emincence spent the afternoon visiting the different parishes and centers of St. Peter Diocese in San Diego.
His visit began at St. Peter Cathedral with Benediction of the Eucharist. The church was filled with faithful, including members of the different groups and sodalities of the parish, as well as the Chaldean Scouts who saluted the Cardinal as he processed into the church.
Afterward, His Eminence was given a tour of the Chaldean Media Center. Each of the divisions presented their projects and accomplishments.
The rest of his visit included a tour of the Convent of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate Conception, the Convent of the Our Lady of the Fields, the Seminary of Mar Abba the Great and St. Michael’s Parish. His visit was a blessing to our parishes, institutions and Diocese.
