WoV Chapel Consectration

The Workers of the Vineyard had the blessing and consecration of their chapel by His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo on October 5, 2012.

The evening began at 6:30 p.m. with the celebration of Holy Mass by Mar Sarhad. Fr. Sabri Kejbo, Fr. Noel Gorgis and Fr. Andrew Younan were also present, as well as the benefactors whose generosity made the purchase of the new convent possible.

During his homily, Mar Sarhad spoke of how abundantly God’s grace overflows in those who are willing to be open to it. This is not only true for those who dedicate themselves to full service of the church, but also for those who are generous toward God with their resources. He spoke of the importance of trusting that God will always take care of us and never leave us desolate, especially when we continuously turn toward him for help.

The Workers of the Vineyard is a Diocesan community of women whose mission is teaching through schools and the media. They were started in 2007 by His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo. The community has received many blessings from God in the 5 years since its establishment, the most prominent being their growth from two to six women. It was precisely this growth that made it necessary for them to find a new convent which they moved into in June 2012.
