The 135 children of the St. Michael’s First Communion class received the Eucharist for the first time this past weekend at St. Michael Chaldean Catholic Church. The students were split into two groups, with the first receiving their First Communion on Friday, June 1, 2012 and the second on Saturday June 2, 2012. The Masses took place on both days at 6:00PM and were celebrated on Friday by His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo and Saturday by Mar Bawai Soro. Both Masses were also attended by the Pastor, Fr. Sabri Kejbo, as well as Fr. Peter, Fr. Michael, Fr. Faris and Fr. Andrew.
The children could hardly stand still from excitement as they arrived in the hall to line up before entering the Church. The Church was filled to capacity with family and friends who had all come to share this joyous day with their children.
