The First Day in Rome

The fist day of the pilgrimage was an eventful one. The day started with a visit to the Catacombs and the church of St. Sebastian. After that, we headed over to the Basillica of St. Paul Outside the Walls where we were able to see the tomb of St. Paul and the chains he was brought to Rome in from Jerusalem.

From there, we visited St. John Lateran where we were able to see the breathtaking statues of the twelve Apostles. Next, we went to the next major Basillica of St. Mary Major. There, we were privileged enough to have His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo celebrate Mass for us in a side chapel. The last stop of the day was at the Trevi Fountain where we were able to shop before heading back to the hotel for the evening.
