On Sunday, March 11, 2012 a group of 88 pilgrims left San Diego to go on a two week Pilgrimage to Rome and the Holy Land. The trip was organized to celebrate the ten year Anniversary of the establishment of the Diocese of St. Peter the Apostle. His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo is accompanying the group and leading the pilgrimage along with Fr. Noel Georgis, the Seminarians of Mar Abba the Great, and Sisters Miskenta and Tarbytha from the Workers of the Vineyard.
The group left St. Peter’s on Sunday and headed up to the Los Angeles Airport (LAX) where they took a direct flight to Paris and finally to Rome. Though the group was tired from the long day of travel, they arrived to Rome in good spirits looking forward to the time they will spend traveling through such historical and religiously significant places.
The trip consists of one week spent in Rome and the other in the Holy Land. We ask God’s blessing and protection for the pilgrims as they travel on their journey. Continue to check Kaldu.org and Kaldaya.net regularly for updates on the pilgrim’s travels.
