The Vocations Retreat offered by the Workers of the Vineyard took place the weekend of January 20, 2012. The 25 retreatants left San Diego on Friday afternoon to spend the weekend at St. George Monastery in Riverside. The main focus of the retreat was to help the young women attending better understand God’s will for them. Through the different talks, small groups and activities, they were able to learn how to discern their vocations better by bringing themselves closer to God and the Church. Though many of the girls attending did not know each other very well, they left the retreat on Sunday as a family.
The retreat was based on the passages in Matthew’s Gospel pertaining to the Kingdom of Heaven. The talks and activities allowed the retreatants to reflect more deeply on the passages while the time spent in small groups gave them an opportunity ask questions and dig deeper into the passage. Overall, it was a fruitful experience for all who attended and we pray that the girls may continue to walk with God wherever His will may lead them.
