What is a Retreat?
A retreat is a time of prayer and meditation; a time to step back and reflect on God in our life and ourselves in God’s Life.
What will this Retreat Be Like?
There will be talks, activities and prayers which will encourage the participants to meditate on the meaning of Beauty and the purpose of Art. In order to encourage the spirit of prayer, reflection and meaningful conversation, there will be no cell phones allowed at any point during the retreat.
There will be one main thing expected of each retreatant: a work of art. By the end of the retreat, everyone will have produced one work to share with the whole group. If a poet, a poem; if a musician, a piece of music, if a filmmaker, a short film, etc. Thus any necessary materials should accompany the retreatant - notebooks, musical instruments, paint & canvas, cameras, computers, etc.
