Throughout the year, St. Peter Diocese offers a number of prayer services according to the different seasons of the liturgical year, the two most popular being Subara (Advent) and Sawma (Lent). These services have been made available online for anyone who would like to enjoy them. The audio is also available for those services that have recordings.
A two-hour prayer service and series of reflections to take place between 9 and 11 PM on Passover Thursday. After an introductory Evening Prayer, nine personas will be used as lenses to gain insight into the events of our Lord’s passion, death and resurrection. The spirituality of this retreat is reflective of the Chaldean Church of the East, being deeply Biblical in nature, and utilizing some of her hymns and insights.
Prayed every Friday at St. Peter Cathedral during the season of Lent, the Way of the Cross contains a Scripture Selection, Spiritual Reflection and Chaldean Liturgical Hymn for every one of the 14 Stations. A Marian hymn is also sung at the end of each station in remembrance of what Our Lady suffered during Christ's passion.
Prayed This Prayer Service is a preparation for Christmas. Through the prayers, readings and hymns, we are able to meditate on the mystery of the Incarnation and the affect it had on humanity. The Advent Prayer Service is a compelation of Ramsha (Evening PRayer) along with Hymns for the Nativity and readings. The prayer service usually occurs the week before Christmas.
