TO  OUR  CHALDEAN  PEOPLE

It is time for a Chaldean to voice out his/her word. We are in the crossway: either we raise up the Chaldean name and preserve our ancestors and civilization which is rooted in Mesopotamia for thousands of years or we live carelessly and lose our rights and the rights of our children inside as well as outside our homeland.

Our Chaldean civilization, the history of our ancestors, and the rights of our brothers and sisters inside Iraq are now our responsibility. We need to take an action in order to ensure our rights in our homeland. This is the position taken by the hierarchy of our Church, our high spiritual authority. We are the genuine descendants of Mesopotamian civilization. So don’t waste this great tradition which was given to us by the Bible and which our ancestors shed their blood in order to preserve it. This day is a historic day: either we become proud about our Chaldean identity and defend it, so that our great ancestors throughout the history and our brothers and sisters inside and outside our homeland and become happy, or we ignore it and occupy ourselves with our daily hassles; if we do so, we let our ancestors and brothers and sisters down and we lose the future of our great Chaldean nation and our rights.

Our beloved brothers and sisters, we are in need of every Chaldean voice overseas… we need your voice. There is no compromise on our Chaldean rights, our ancient history, and our civilization which has been in existence up to the present situation. The Chaldeans have united their force inside and outside Iraq in organizations, which defend our rights, and they have combined their word under the Chaldean Assembly which is located in Iraq and it has many branches in many countries including California, USA.

We, who are in the Chaldean Assembly, are in need of your Chaldean voice…it is your name, history, civilization, the blood of your martyrs, the rights of your brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, and yourself. So don’t let it go, compromise on it. We hope that you unite your voice with ours and join the Chaldean Assembly and support our campaign through:

1. Establishing a greater influential lobby demanding the opening of election           centers where there are Chaldean communities inside and outside Iraq.
   
2. Pursuing the effort of putting the name of Chaldean nationality in the Iraqi Constitution.
   
   
3. Working together with other active associations in order to make the constitution secular.
