Our Patriarch Emmanuel III Delly consecrates a new Church

1- The Chaldean Synod ends its sessions

Thursday evening May 11th, the Chaldean Synod concluded its sessions after discussing different urgent matters in the life of Chaldean Catholics, especially those who are living in Iraq under critical situation among the terrorism and religious fanaticism. The synod lasted for three days, May 9-11.

2- Patriarch Delly receives a group of clergy from the Syrian Churches

On Friday May 12th, his beatitude received in his residence a group of clergymen from the Syrian Orthodox Church and from the Syrian Catholic Church of Mosul. The group congratulated the Patriarch for the end of the Chaldean Synod and wished the Patriarch and the Chaldean Church a spiritual and temporal welfare.

 

3- Consecrating “The Martyrs” Church



On the evening of the same day, Friday May 12th, His Beatitude Emmanuel III Delly consecrated the new built Church of Shaqlawa. The new church is called “The Martyrs Church” as a remembrance to the martyrs of the Chaldean Church in the late times due to the political and religious persecution not officially declared on Christians in Iraq. Many people attended the ceremony; our Eparchial Bishop Sarhad Yawsip Jammo assisted the Patriarch in the celebration.



 

4- Kurdish dinner banquet for the honor of the Patriarch



On Friday evening May 12th, the Kurdish prime minister N. Barzaani invited the Patriarch to a special Kurdish banquet in Arbil, the capital of Kurdistan.  Big number of attendance accompanied the Patriarch from the bishop’s staff and clergy.
