2006 Graduate
event
At St. Peter's
Hall

On July 14,
2006...The graduation of College and High School students
was celebrated in a lovely mass at St. Peter’s Chaldean
Cathedral in San Diego and followed by a social gathering
in the Church Hall. Fr. Michael Bazzi delivered a compelling
speech, encouraging students to continue pursuing greatness, in
life and in the church. He congratulated each student and
presented each with the Graduation booklet created each year in
honor of the graduates. Fr. Bazzi also mentioned how each one of
these students would influence the future, and how he hoped they
would do so well.
The ceremony that followed was a great time
for families to celebrate the achievements of their sons and
daughters. The Knights of Columbus took the stage welcoming
everyone, and then proceeded to honor the graduates by calling
each individual out to the stage. The graduates lined up
together and families cheered as they all stood together. It is
a great wish of the church that more participants, graduates,
and families come out next year to celebrate such joyous
occasions. Having more children, teens, and adults involved is a
great necessity to the church and would enrich the lives of
many.
The Knights of Columbus also gave out four
scholarships to students who worked hard, showed success in
school, and were involved with the church. The scholarships were
presented by several honorable men, including the Bishop, Fr.
Felix, and the grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Issam
Arabo performed with his band and the night was filled with
food, music, and dancing.
