Hurricane Rita
Just as New Orleans and surrounding cities were recovering from the demolishing forces of Hurricane Katrina, a new massive hurricane named Rita was found headed towards Houston, Texas. Hurricane Rita drifted towards coastal counties, leaving millions with no choice but to evacuate and flee their homes. Many people were injured and killed in the process of evacuating, before the hurricane actually hit. The initial death toll has been announced at 100, but an actual tally may take weeks since most of the areas are still suffering without power or water. Once again, the damage from the hurricane has caused oil prices to inflate severely, but the problem of many living without food or shelter is much more extreme. We must unite and pray together in hopes that the lives of these people will someday soon be restored to normalcy and may those who became victims of both deadly storms rest in peace.
