The Liturgy Course for Lectors, Sub-deacons
and Deacons at St. Peter Chaldean Catholic Cathedral has
been concluded. It consisted of biblical, theological and
liturgical studies of the sacraments, especially the sacrament
of Holy Order and the sacrament of Eucharist.
More
than 45 men and women including a number of young people
participated in a two part exam. Part I was with Fr. Michael
Bazzi and part II was with Bishop Sarhad Yawsip Jammo.
The
candidates did complete the course assignments and pass
the exam and sign a Statement of Acceptance of the
Responsibilities of Ordination, and have been approved
by their pastors, confirming that they are willing to accept
and fulfill the duties of this ministry, according to the
call of their local church.

Genesis of a Liturgical Reform :
The Chaldean Patriarchal
Synod, held in Baghdad on the days between the 14 th and
18 th of January 1992, and presided by his Beatitude Mar
Raphael I Bidawid of blessed memory, in accordance with Canon
124 of the Eastern Code, decreed the formation of
a Patriarchal Liturgical Committee , to be headed
by Mar Andrews Sana (who chaired the Committee until his
retirement in 2003), and composed of three experts, the Reverends:
Jacques Isaac (now bishop), Mons. Peter Yousif, and Sarhad
Jammo (now bishop). Their mandate was to present to
the Holy Synod a historical study and a draft of a reform
for the Divine Raze and the other sacraments of
the Church
Acts of the Committee : The
Committee held six meetings between June 1994 and March 1997,
five in Rome and one in Paris , and presented its first draft
of the Divine Raze to the Holy Synod on April 15,
1997 , with the related explanation. The Fathers of
the Synod, during their meeting in Lebanon on May 1997, reviewed
the Draft as presented by the members of the Committee, and
requested, later, the opinion and comments of their dioceses. The
Committee received the comments and suggestions from the
Chaldean clergy during the following months, and
held two meetings in Rome to give them due consideration:
from May 25 to June 2, 1999, then from May 8 to 13, 2000,
and presented an updated draft of the Takhsa
d-Raze to the Holy Synod in Rome on the following
day, May 14, 2000.
Authoritative Reference : The Congregation
for the Eastern Churches of the Holy See, on 6 January 1996
, issued an “Instruction for the Application of the Liturgical
Prescriptions of the Code of Canons for the Eastern Churches.” This
Instruction is based on the genuine liturgical traditions
of the Eastern Churches, and was composed upon the directives
of the Holy See in that regard, and, accordingly, it has
formulated principles and rules that are pertinent to the
liturgical worship of all the Catholic Eastern Churches.
Therefore, as expressed in the Instruction: “The Authorities
of each Church Sui Juris, according to the indications of
the Apostolic Constitution Sacri Canones, are invited to
receive them with full readiness and to insert them in the
prescriptions of their particular liturgical law.” (Chapter
1, 6). In the fulfillment of their mandate, the Liturgical
Committee followed diligently the guidance of the Holy See .
Acts of the Holy Synod : The Fathers of
Holy Chaldean Synod, during the period of their meeting in
Baghdad , from the 16 th to the 24 th of October 2002 , after
listening to the presentation of the members of the Liturgical
Committee, gave their approval to the proposed Reformed Takhsa .
Recognitio of the Holy
See : On April 12, 2003 , the Reformed Takhsa ,
with a complete English translation, was presented to the
Holy See for the canonical Recognitio . The
Congregation for the Eastern Churches responded on July
20, 2004 , with appropriate observations and directives .
In fulfillment with the instruction of the Holy See, the
Liturgical Committee held a two-week meeting, on July 12-26,
2005 , in San Diego , California , and updated the text
of the Takhsa accordingly. In a Special
Synod held in Rome on November 8-12 2005 , the
Chaldean Hierarchs gave the Chaldean Ordo of
the Divine Raze their final retouches, as well
as their final approval. On November 15, 2005, His
Beatitude Mar Emmanuel III Delly presented the final version
to the Holy See for the final Recognitio , which
was communicated to His Beatitude by a letter of the Oriental
Congregation dated February 18, 2006.
Final Decision of the Holy Synod : Finally,
the Holy Chaldean Synod, held in Shaqlawa 9-11 May 2006, decided
the time of implementation of the New Missal to be January
6, 2007 , as promulgated in an official Statement
in the patriarchal magazine Najm Al-Mashriq (n.46 of 2006,
pp. 161-163).
St. Peter Diocese will be ready to implement on
time .

300 Turkey
Distributed!!
On Wednesday November 22, 2006, the day before
Thanksgiving, members of the “knights of Columbus” (Mar Toma
Council), at St. Peter’s Chaldean Catholic Cathedral in El
Cajon, CA, organized a food distribution day to help families
in need. Nearly 300 turkeys were distributed to the
families who lined up to receive the donated items, also other
baking supplies such as cooking oil and rice were given.
The turkeys and other food supplies were
donated by the generous people of our Chaldean community. Many
families donated food, other donated money, and some donations
came from Chaldean businesses . Members of the “Ladies
of Hope” also had a fund raiser bake sale on Sunday
November19, 2006 to raise money towards buying food supplies
for the families in need for Thanksgiving.
May God bless all those who contributed with
their time, effort and money to help make this thanksgiving
day a sharing day.

تضمن منهاج النزهة فعاليات مختلفة كمسابقات الاطفال وبرامج ترفيهية
للكبار كلعب البنگو واليانصيب.
ثم صلى الشباب على مائدة الطعام كي يوفقهم اللـه وجاليتنا
الكلدانية في حمل المسؤولية للنهوض قدما بمشروع الكنيسة.
هذا وتبرع بالطعام عدد من المؤمنين الخيرين لدعم نشاطات الشباب.

نزهة كاتدرائية مار بطرس بمناسبة عيد الشكر
في يوم عيد الشكر الامريكي انطلق شباب كاتدرائية مار بطرس
الكلدانية في سان دييكو الى متنزه جميل بالقرب من المحيط الهادي
بقيادة الاب "ميخائيل بزي" وبرفقة الاب "فيليكس الشابي" حيث قضوا
اوقاتا طيبة في لعبة كرة الطائرة، وكرة القدم الامريكية، صبيانا
وبناتا. على ان قسما من الاولاد سبقوا الجمع حيث بلغوا المكان قبل
الجميع منذ التاسعة صباحا في حين انظم القسم الاكبر بعد ساعة من
ذلك تقريبا. كما وانظمت الى الجمع الزميلة الاخت العزيزة "نوال
الكاتب". استمر الشباب باللعب الى منتصف النهار حيث وصلت السيدة
"جاكي دللو" جالبة معها المؤونة والزاد لاطعام حشد الشباب متبرعة ب
( 4 ديك رومي كبير) مع سائر لوازم الغداء، مشكورة. صلى الاب
ميخائيل بزي قبل الاكل وطلب من اللـه في هذا اليوم ان لا يبقى من
جوعان او من انسان وحيد. ثم طب اذا ما كان هناك من يرغب في الصلاة،
فاظافت الطفلة "رينيه الكاتب" من انها مسرورة في هذا اليوم بحضور
الجميع على الرغم من انها ليست مسرورة من اكل التركي (الديك
الرومي).
بعد الاكل عاد الجميع الى اللعب والتمشي ولكون يوم عيد الشكر هو
اليوم الوحيد تقريبا في امريكا الذي يجمتع فيه اعضاء العائلة مع
بعض، قام البعض من الشباب بالانسحاب للانضمام الى اهاليهم في حوالي
1:30 ظهرا، في حين انسحب الباقون بعد ساعة واحدة.
وصفة روحية... أجمل هدية

ونحن مقبلون على موسم الاعياد وتبادل الهدايا
والتجمعات العائلية، والانهماك بشراء الحاجات وتوزيعها على اقاربنا
واصدقائنا وما شاء اللـه فالقائمة تطول كل عام ومهما كلف الامر.
هذا بغض النظر عن الاطعمة التي نفرط بشرائها مع العلم انها تفوق
حاجتنا ان الانشغال بهذه المتطلبات طبيعي ولا يضر اذا طبقناه بصورة
صحيحة اصولية مُناسبة لما نحتاجه في مثل هذا الموسم و المناسبات
الأخرى.
الكثير منا يتذكر اباءَنا وامهاتنا كيف كانت تمر
هذه المواسم عليهم وهم يننتظرونها بشوق وقلوبهم مبتهجة مع اولادهم
الذين يفرحون بأقل ما يتوفر لهم شاكرين اللـه على نعمه وبركاته.
كان المتمكن مالياً يساعد المحتاج بدون مقابل،
والجار يقتسم رغيفه مع جاره المحتاج، والاولاد يسيرون مع اخوتهم
واصدقائهم بكل براءة وبدون حسد.
أما اليوم، فأن شبابنا اصبحوا مشتتين في مجتمع
تقوده الاجهزة الالكترونية والاعلام المسيطر والمصالح الشخصية.
الاباء والامهات في دوامة مع اولادهم بين تقاليد
الماضي وتطور الحاضر، يتراكضون ويتسابقون ويتنافسون للوصول الى ما
يحلمون بالحصول عليه غير مبالين ان كان هدفه لمنفعتهم ام لا.
هناك الكثير بيننا وقعوا في غربال هذا المجتمع
يدورون يميناً ويساراً للنجاة من هذا الدمار ليتمكنوا من العيش
باستقامة وأمانة ولكنهم لايستمرون طويلاً حتى يسحبهم الغربال الى
دوامته ... وهم عاجزون عن التخلص منه بسبب دورانه مع تراكض الاخرين
نحوه ليأخذهم الى ما يظنونه قمة وهو بالحقيقة قعر يجتذبهم نحوه وهم
غير عالمين به.
اغلب الناس في مثل هذه الايام يبحثون عن وصفات
ومقادير لعمل مأكولات واطباق جديدة وشهية ولذيذة كي يتباهوا بها
امام ضيوفهم واصدقائهم.
اسمحوا لي ان اعرض لكم وصفة بسيطة لا تكلف كثيراً،
مقاديرها متوفرة لدى اغلبنا تفيدنا في كل الاوقات:

قلب بشري نقي
§
عقل متفتح
§
حواس يقظة
§
لسان صادق
§
كثير من الصبر
§
كثير من التسامح
§
كثير من المحبة

كثير من التأني

كثير من التضحية
طريقة العمل:
تجمع كل هذه المواصفات وتحفظ في صميم كل واحد منا
وتكون أجمل وأغلى هدية نقدمها لأولادنا وعوائلنا واصدقائنا.
والأفضل من هذ كله انها لا تنتهي وخيرها سيعم على بيوتنا ومجتمعنا،
وتكون سلاحنا امام مصاعب هذه الحياة تساعدنا يوم نقع في غربال
الحياة. اتمنى للجميع اعياداً مباركة.

تعليم البابا حول الوردية
ترجمة القس فيليكس الشابي مقال لباتريك لورنز
بمناسبة موسم البشارة (ܣܘܒܪܐ)
يتوجه الجميع بصلواتهم وتضرعاتهم الى العذراء مريم، لذا ارتأينا ان
نقدم هذا المقال التأملي عن صلاة الوردية للبابا الراحل يوحنا بولس
الثاني. في
16 اكتوبر، 2002 حوّل البابا يوحنا بولس الثاني طريقة تلاوة
الوردية باضافته اليها اسرار النور. ومع الاسرار الجديدة اعطانا
البابا بعض الاقتراحات المفصلة حول كيفية القيام بصلاة الوردية
وذلك في رسالته الرسولية "وردية العذراء مريم" الفصل 3. اذ نرى ان
البابا قد ترك بصمات رائعة في الحكمة في عموم رسالته هذه. لقد
قمنا بكتابة هذه المقترحات الواحدة تلو الاخرى لتتمكنوا من اخذها
كعينات، ودرسها، وتبنيها في وقت الصلاة.
الاقتراحات:
1.
صل على مهل "بايقاع
هاديء وسلام متمهل".
هذا يساعدنا على التامل ويجلب الى السطح "غنى الاسرار الذي لا يسبر
غوره". فالوردية هي تاملية بطبيعتها، لذا لا ينبغي ان تتم
ممارستها على عجل.
2.
اعمل جهدك ان تصبح
اكثر فاكثر على مثال المسيح.
ففي التأمل علينا ان نركز على: يسوع، واعماله، وكل استحقاقاته
وفضائله. فهذا يقودنا لان نصبح "متشبهين" اكثر بالمسيح، ويعلمنا
أن
نلج في عقليته.
3.
دع مريم تساعد.
من خلال اعطاء الثقة الكاملة "بعنايتها الامومية" فبامكاننا ان
"نتحول صوفيا" الى جنبها في الناصرة، وان نتلقى التمرس الروحي كي
نصبح اكثر فاكثر على شاكلة يسوع. انها "مدرسة مريم" التي تقودنا
الى اعادة التأمل بالاناجيل، بعينيها هي.
4.
اعلن كل سر بصوت
عال، واستعمل الصور لكي تساعدك على التركيز.
اننا بحاجة الى ذلك كي يزيد تركيزنا على السر اثناء الصلاة. فمن
الطبيعي ان يكون مدى انتباهنا قصيرا، لذا فاننا نحتاج الى
المساعدة.
5.
استمع الى كلمة
اللـه التي لها علاقة بالسر.
هذا يسمح للـه ان يتكلم مع كل واحد منا شخصيا، ويجعل من تلاوة
الوردية كل مرة ان تكون حيوية وجديدة. فللكتاب المقدس رسالة قوية
جدا، لان الروح القدس هو مُلهِمَه، وبامكانه ان يَعبر حدود الزمان
والمكان ليلمس قلوبنا من جديد.
6.
خصص وقتا للصمت بعد
اعلان السر ومناداة كلمة اللـه.
فهذا يعطينا الوقت الكافي لنتحسس رسالة اللـه الشخصية لنا.
وبامكاننا ان نستلم بتواصل هذه الرسائل الشخصية من الكتب المقدسة،
اذا ما أعطينا لانفسنا الوقت الكافي للتفكير والصلاة بهدوء.
7.
ان نجعل من "ابانا
الذي" اساسا لصلاتنا.
فعلينا ان نتوجه اولا الى الآب لانه مصدر جميع النعم، وبالتالي فان
كل شيء اخر سيكون في مكانه الصحيح.
8.
في "السلام عليك"
انتبه على ان يكون اسم يسوع هو مركز الجاذبية.
توقف مع الوقفات ولا تستعجل للوصول الى النهاية. اجعل من لحظة
القمة والتركيز على يسوع مرافقاً لصلاتك باكملها.
9.
رتل "المجد للاب".
يقول البابا ان "تسبحة الثالوث هي هدف كل تأمل مسيحي". التركيز على
حضور الثالوث وخاصة عند تلاوة المجدلة يعتبر احسن طريقة للوصول الى
هذا الهدف النهائي. ولهذا يجب ان تكون مرتلة وان ينظر اليها
باعتبارها قمة البيت الذي نتلوه.
10.
صل لاجل ثمار السر.
كل بيت من ابيات الوردية ينتهي بصلوات مختلفة (مثل صلاة: يا يسوع
اغفر لنا خطايانا...)، وذلك حسب العادة المتبعة محليا، وكون هذه
الصلوات هي حسنة، فاننا مدعوون لان نصلي لاجل ثمار السر لانها تبرز
العلاقة بين صلاتنا من جهة وحياتنا المسيحية اليومية من جهة اخر ى.
11.
عليك ان تعلم بان
للحبات معنىً رمزيا لانها كلها تقود الى المصلوب (الذي هو المسيح).
وترمز الحبات ايضا الى السلسلة التي تربطنا باللـه وبالاخرين ايضا،
كاشفة العلاقات والاواصر التي توحدنا كجماعة.
12.
صلِّ "السلام عليك
ايتها الملكة ام الرحمة" مادحا افضال مريم، في لحظة تتويج لصلاتنا
ونيلاً لشفاعتها.
اعتبر وقت الصلاة جديا "كما لو انه موعد اقلاع طائرتك" ان تكون مع
مريم الام والمعلمة والمرشدة. انه وقت رائع لاختبار امومتها في
حياتنا.
13.
في الخاتمة، صل لاجل
البابا.
لان هذا يساعدنا على توسيع نظرتنا ويجعلنا ندرك باننا نصلي للكنيسة
باكملها.
14.
صل اسرار
النور في يوم الخميس بدل من اسرار الفرح التي بالامكان نقلها الى
يوم السبت بسبب موضوعها المريمي القوي (لان السبت هو يوم مريم).
15.
اجعل من صلاتك صلاة
لاجل السلام.
فاننا نتامل بامير السلام، لذا فمن الطبيعي ان نكون اكثر متفهمين
للسلام الحقيقي كلما تاملنا حياة يسوع. كما ان صلاة الوردية تجعلنا
اكثر: هادئين ومسالمين ومتاملين.
16.
اجعلها صلاة
العائلة.
ستقود الصلاة مع بعض الى "ملء الحياة اليومية بصور الخلاص". ورغم
ان الوردية ليست حلا لكل المشاكل فانها العون الروحي الذي لا يجب
ان يقل قدرة. تعيين وقت للصلاة يعتبر طريقة جيدة للم شمل العائلة
مع بعض، وخاصة في ايامنا، كون ان الهوة بين الاجيال بدات تتسع بسبب
التقنية، ونمط الحياة السريع.
17.
على
الشباب ان يتشجعوا ليجعلوا من الوردية صلاتهم الذاتية بهذا يمكنهم
ان يجلبوا الحيوية والانتعاش اليها لانهم الوحيدين القادرين على
فعل ذلك.
