CLERGY

Father Zuhair (Anderawis ) Gorgis Toma - Fr. Toma was born in Baghdad , Iraq . He entered the Order of Rabban Hormozid monastery on August 5, 1987 and made his temporary vows on August 5, 1989. On October 1, 1992 he entered the Babylon College in Baghdad to study philosophy and theology. On July 16, 1993 he made his permanent vows at Rabban Hormozid. On September 26, 1996 he was sent to Beirut, Lebanon to continue his education in philosophy and theology.
On July 17, 1999, Fr. Toma graduated form the University of the Holy Spirit in Lebanon, and on June 29, 2000 he was ordained a priest. He arrived in the United States on June 13, 2001 and became assistant pastor of St. Paul parish. On November 1, 2001 was assigned as administrator of St. George parish in Santa Ana, California.
On May 15, 2008 was assigned as a pastor at saint Barbara Chaldean Catholic Church in Las Vegas, Nevada till September 15, 2010. And after that move to be a Pastor at St. Mary’s Assyrian and Chaldean Catholic Church in san Jose, California till now .

HISTORY

• 1981: Fr. Francis Dawood establishes a mission in San Jose and celebrates biweekly Mass.
• 1986: Fr. Giuliano Costato, celebrates mass for the community for one year.
• 1987: Fr. Yoshia Sana Begins serving at parish.
• Sept. 1988: A house is purchased as a rectory and parish center.
• Mar. 1995: Church is purchased in the city of Campell .
• Sept. 23, 1995: Church is dedicated.    
• When Fr. Yoshia Sana started in 1987 there were 150 families. Today the numbers has risen to 370 families.
• On average there are 12-14 baptisms and first Communions yearly, along with 3 to 5 weddings.
• 2011, Fr.Zuhair (Anderawis )Toma Begins serving at parish.

SCHEDULE of MASSES

• First Saturday of the Month Mass in St. Jude Catholic Church at 6:30 P.M in : 303 Hillcrest Ave. Marina, CA 93933
   
• Second Sunday of the Month: Mass in Arabic at 4:00 P.M.
   
• Sundays at 11:00 A.M.
   

YOUTH GROUPS

• Kids Choir every Tuesday at 6:00 P.M.
   

• Adult Bible Study every Tuesday at 7:00 P.M.
   

• Adult Choir every Tuesday at 7:00 P.M.
   

• Youth Group every Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the John Paul II Youth Center.
