General Chaldean
Conference 2011
Day 1 - Wednesday
Chaldean Media Center Opening
Ceremony

The opening of the Chaldean Media
Center was a long awaited and joyous occasion. It concluded the
first day of the General Chaldean Conference taking place at St.
Peter Cathedral from Wednesday, March 30 to Friday April 1, 2011.
The Choir sang a well fitting song titled, “New Babylon,” which
celebrates our Chaldean culture and heritage. Afterward, His
Excellency, Bishop Sarhad Yawsip Jammo cut the ribbon and made the
opening official. Speeches were given by Mar Sarhad, Fr. Noel Gorgis,
Fr. Felix Shabi, Fr. Andrew Younan and Mar Bawai Soro to celebrate
this historical event. They spoke of a Chaldean Renaissance where
the Chaldean people could share their heritage, culture, language,
art, music, literature and liturgy with the world.
The Chaldean Media Center is equipped with a fully functional
Television Studio, a Publishing Office, and a Web Designing Office
where Kaldu.org and Kaldaya.net are shared with the world, among
many other forms of communications media. Unlike its humble
beginnings of two computers and a printer, the Chaldean Media Center
has grown into a legitimate and recognized means of communications
with Chaldeans in our community and around the world.
The current staff of the Chaldean Media
Center are as follows:
