Ordinations at St. Mary's Church in San Jose

Among the many blessings of the historic pastoral visit of Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo to our parish at St. Mary's, was the ordination of five members of the diaconate. On Sunday, August 29th, 2010, our beloved bishop celebrated the Divine Mysteries, being accompanied by the vicar general Archdeacon Sabri Kejbo, Fr. Noel Gorgis, Fr. Youshia Sana and Corbishop Samuel Dinkha.

Readers Yulius Yadegar, Froid Elias, Ilsin Eisakhani, and Rodney Anhari were made subdeacons. Subdeacon Kais Mikha was in turn ordained as a deacon. All five men have served the St. Mary parish community for many years. May they continue their service to the Church, serving in liturgical functions as well as taking on the role of social ministry in the example of the first seven deacons, St. Stephen and his brothers.

During the Eucharistic celebration, Mar Sarhad delivered an inspirational message to the parish, encouraging its members to go forth in all earnest love of their Church and Christ, in unity with the Church, its canon laws and magesterium.
