Celebrating the Seventh Anniversary of the Bishop Sarhad Yawsip
Jammo
On Wednesday, July 22,
2009, representatives from institutions in St. Peter Diocese
gathered at St. Peter Cathedral & Hall to celebrate the Seventh
Anniversary of the Ordination and Installation of their bishop, Mar
Sarhad Yawsip Jammo. After His Excellency celebrated Mass, in the
presence of His Excellency Mar Bawai Soro and many priests of the
Diocese, he and all the faithful went to the Church hall to continue
their celebration.
Among the speakers were Bishop Mar Bawai Soro, Archdeacon Sabri
Kejbo and Fr. Awraha Mansoor. Finally, Mar Sarhad took the stand and
spoke about his thankfulness for the wonderful team of priests and
faithful that have worked with him in the mission of the Gospel in
his Diocese, comparing them to the “teams” of the 12 Apostles and 72
Disciples that surrounded our Lord and aided him in his ministry.
“If Our Lord had help in his mission in this world,” the bishop
said, “who am I to attempt this work alone?”
The joy at the gathering was tangible as everyone enjoyed their
dinner together and came to greet their beloved bishop. God bless
you in your ministry, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, and give you many
more years of service to his Church!
