Annual Bishop’s Banquet

No Longer Guests

The Annual Bishop’s Banquet has come and gone once again, however, this year, it was a more sentimental one than the rest. As with previous banquets, Mar Bawai Soro, along with priests from his diocese, attended both the banquet and priest meetings. At this banquet, unlike years passed, they are no longer our honored guests, but our fellow companions. Earlier this year, Mar Bawai, five priests and over three thousand faithful joined the Catholic Church.

The evening started with the celebration of Holy Mass followed by the banquet which included speeches by both Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo and Mar Bawai Soro, distribution of awards, entertaining music and great food.

The recipients of the Chaldean Person of the Year Awards are as follows:
