Hundreds of the
faithful gathered at St. Peter Chaldean Cathedral this
afternoon for a candle light vigil to pray for the safety of
Bishop Paulos Faraj Rahho, the Chaldean bishop of Mosul,
Iraq, and to commemorate the three subdeacon martyrs who
were killed in his kidnapping. After praying the rosary in
the Church in Chaldean and English with the faithful, Bishop
Sarhad Yawsip Jammo spoke about the dangerous situation of
Christians in Iraq. After the bishop’s speech there was a
candle light procession to the grotto of Our Lady as martyr
hymns were being sung.
