February 17, 2008 Answering God's Call
Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, preaching at both the English and Chaldean Masses at St. Peter Cathedral this Sunday, announced his plans to open a Diocesan Seminary to train the young men who have presented themselves for priestly discernment and study. His Grace reminded the faithful of their obligation to respond to the grace of God in this matter - as the Lord has called young men to the priesthood, he calls all the faithful to support them in every way they can - through prayer and financially. The two practical requests the Bishop made of the faithful are: first, a house suitable for the living, prayer and study needs of a seminary; second, financial sponsorship from faithful families which will be in the amount of $200 per year.
