Endorsement of Declaration of Intention

In fidelity with our bishop, His Lordship Mar Bawai Soro, our parish priest, Reverend Father Dimitri Grekoff and the other priests and clergy who have signed the “Declaration of Intention” to enter full communion with the Catholic Church and to resume full union with the Chaldean Catholic Church, the parish of Saint Barnabas the Apostle, Sacramento, California, wishes to extend full support and endorsement of said document.

Our support and endorsement is based on the Biblical, liturgical and ecclesial principles of unity, communion and mutual charity that call us to one another in service and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ and in answer to his prayer for the oneness of all his believers, that they might enjoy the closeness that he shares with the Father.

To that end we humbly ask and pray that the Catholic Church receive our bishop and clergy's Declaration of Intention favorably and guide us into the unity we seek. May the prayers of Saint Barnabas, the Apostle of Encouragement, be upon our bishop and clergy as they endeavor to accomplish this most important undertaking.

In closing, the people of Saint Barnabas the Apostle parish endorse the Declaration of Intention, the leadership of our bishop Mar Bawai Soro and commitment of our clergy to unity with the Catholic Church.
