The Feast of the Cross at St. Peter Cathedral

 

The Cathedral of St. Peter was filled with faithful on the evening of the Feast of the Cross, attending a Mass celebrated by Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo. As the choir sang in praise of the Lord at the end of the Mass, a procession began, following a large wooden cross carried by the youth of the parish. The procession went outdoors to the grotto, where the people venerated the cross one by one, under the light of the fire representing the light of Christ.
