Expansion of St. Peter the Apostle Diocesan Advisory Council

 

His Excellency Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo appointed 10 new members to the Diocesan Advisory Council to include representatives from all the regional communities of the Diocese. The new council consists of nineteen members from the following regions:

1-        San Diego region: Aziz Razoky (Chairman), Najib Konja, Manal Naoom, Noori Barka, Arkan Somo, Tony Oshana, Nashat Damman, Najib Oram, Thomas Meram, and Samir Gorou.

2-        Escondido & Poway region: Basil Makdesi.

3-        Riverside & Orange region: William Jebo, and Angela Disacco.

4-        Los Angeles region: Ashour Khosrowabadi, and Sarkhadoun Yadegar.

5-        North California region: Raymond George, Ninoos Yadegar, and Tom Simon.

6-        Las Vegas region: Raghid Kosa.

7-        Phoenix region: (to be appointed).

 

The mandate of this council is the following: 

1-         Providing advice to the Bishop on civil matters of the Diocese.

2-         Promoting cultural and educational programs, concerning the needs and the well being of the Chaldean and Assyrian community.

3-         Organizing social Diocesan events and conventions.

4-         Giving advice on financial matters, and organizing fundraisers for Diocesan projects.

5-         Representing the Diocese on governmental and social events.
