Less than two months after
the ordination of three deacons and many subdeacons and lectors
set apart to serve the Chaldean Diocese of St. Peter the
Apostle, the Church celebrated the Memorial of St. Stephen, the
first Deacon and Martyr. After the two Sunday Masses at St.
Peter Cathedral, there was a banquet in honor of all those who
serve the Church - deacons, subdeacons, lectors, choir members,
parish council members, and all other volunteers, without whose
service the Church could hardly do her work. Around 200 people
came from around San Diego and enjoyed the food and fellowship,
in the presence of the Bishop and several priests.
