Wine and Cheese Gala

A Fundraising Event for the 2008 Chaldean Assyrian Youth Convention

The Wine & Cheese Gala Fundraising Event was held on Friday, March 14^th 2008, at St. Peter‘s Hall in El Cajon, CA.

Over 200 people attended the event and we were honored to have our Bishop Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo speak briefly to the guests to highlight the purpose of the Youth Convention. We were also happy to see Fr. Michael Bazzi, Fr. Andrew Younan, Msgr. Sabri Kejbo and the Chaldean Sisters, present at the event.

There was a large selection of wine for guests to enjoy as well as a variety of cheese to be served with the wine. An art exhibit was displayed with creative pieces from a few local artists, Alen Glina, Maureen Putris, and Moayed.

Everyone who attended the event was excited to receive a door prize valued at $195. The level of excitement was raised when one lucky raffle winner won $550 in cash. Guests also had many opportunities to bid on a selection of over 60 items in both the Silent and Live Auction. Auction Items included Jewelry, Sports Memorabilia, Electronics, Artwork, Gift Certificates, Gift Baskets, and more.

We would like to thank all of the volunteers who donated their time for the event. We are also very thankful for the generous donations that we received from over one hundred sponsors. Finally we would like to thank everyone who supported the fundraiser by purchasing tickets and attending the event.
